How about a little Imaginisce?

I know it's a little early for Easter... but it's never to early for bling! I created this layout with mostly Imaginisce product. I added buttons along the top but to add some extra "glitz" I used sparkle mod podge on the buttons. I covered the Cosmo Cricket chickies with Imaginisce patterned papers - how cute are they?

In Honor of World Card Making Day

I wanted to post a flurry of cards in honor of World Card Making Day! When I started crafting over 20 years ago - I started with a box of rubberstamps, a handful of pens and inks and began making cards. I could waste away an Saturday afternoon just making cards. I still can!

I believe nothing can bring a smile to your face faster than to open your mailbox and receive a handmade card. It means that someone was thinking of you. They sat down and actually took TIME to create something for you. That's special!

So... with that ... here are some of my favorite creations with hopes that they will inspire you in some small way to bless someone with a smile today!

Card Sketch!

Who can resist a card sketch? Not me! I'm always one to see how I can make it just a little different - and unique.

This card sketch is again a challenge on the Bo Bunny Blog. I chose to use the Sweetie Pie line on this card. I love the combination of pink, green and red.

Here is the sketch that was created by Dee Gallimore-Perry.

As you can see I changed the square to a circle and mounted it onto a star (which I cut using my wishblade).

The trick when using shapes is to make sure you ink and outline to give them definition. I used black ink on the scalloped circle and on each piece of the inner circle. I used my white inkssentials pen by Ranger to outline the star with faux stitching. I think it makes all the difference in the card.

For the inside of the card I also outlined the star shape. The sentiment is a very old stamp by DOTS... which is now Close to My Heart. The heart is cut from the patterned paper.

Bo Bunny Quote Challenge

The Bo Bunny Blog is having a challenge to use a quote on a scrapbook layout - and I couldn't resist playing along. I went searching for pictures and a quote to go with it. I went with a quote from Winnie the Pooh because, well, who can resist a Pooh quote?

My patterned papers are a mix from the Calypso & Sweetie Pie line at Bo Bunny. Of course, no layout is complete without using the fabulous Double Dot papers (my favorite).

Here is the layout... notice the big red swoosh which mimicks the shape of the hammock.


Here in the closeup you can see that I covered the yellow double dot scalloped circle with a mesh similar to hammock netting as a special touch.

Shaped Card Challenge

Bo Bunny is keeping us hopping with challenges - this time it is a "Shaped Card" challenge. This was a fun one for me because I love making cards... especially shaped cards!

The base of my card is a from Bo Bunny's Calypso Line. I created the Red Double Dot Butterfly with my Wishblade and outlined it with my white Inkssentials pen. I used big yellow gems for the body. The hearts on the butterfly are punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I used Bo Bunny's Calypso Life patterned paper, which is inked and outlined.

Of course the card wouldn't be complete without a few extra tiny butterflies - punched from yellow Double Dot.

I love how the card turned out... it is very 3 Dimensional and full of texture!
